Wow we are already through the month of October. This week we have covered a lot of information.
6th grade has learned about lines, rays, and angles. They have learned about complementary and supplementary angles. We will spend the next week or so finishing our geometry chapter.
7th grade took their chapter 4 test. We have begun operations with rational numbers. They have also learned how to write a ratio and solve problems to figure out the unit rate.
Pre-Algebra is working on least common multiples as well as how to change decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals. We will be adding and subtracting fractions next week and solving equations with fractions.
Don't forget that penny wars start Monday.

Today is the last day of the first quarter. It is hard to believe that half a semester is already over.
6th grade finished a section on fractions today. We will start our Geometry unit Monday.
7th grade is still finishing with adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers. They will be having a test next week.
Pre-Algebra just finished a chapter on factoring and multiplying and dividing exponents. We will be starting a chapter with all things fractions next week.

This week has been a busy week.
6th grade had a test on fractions and have begun adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like and unlike denominators.
7th grade is also working on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like and unlike denominators. They are also starting on multiplying fractions.
Pre-Algebra started a chapter on factoring this week. We have been learning how to use factor trees to find GCF and LCM.
Please check renweb to see if your student is missing any work. All work will be due by next Friday for the 1st quarter.

Wow what a week. We have been working hard.
6th grade has been working on division for the past week. I think they are finally understanding long division. We also have discussed order of operations. They will be having a test next week on division.
7th grade has been working hard with factoring numbers. We have learned how to find the greatest common factor using factor trees. We have also learned what multiples are and how to find the least common multiple.
Pre-Algebra just finished one-step equations and inequalities. We had our second test this week. Now we are working on estimating decimals. We will begin solving equations containing decimals next week.
Over all things are going well. I am enjoying all of your children.

This week we have been steadily moving along in math.
6th grade is working on multiplication with 2 and 3 digit factors.
7th grade is working on adding, multiplying and dividing decimals.
Pre-Algebra is working on simplifying expressions and solving one step equations.
All classes will be having their second test next week.
If your student is struggling with multiplication please work with them on their multiplication facts nightly.

Week 2
So all of my classes had their first test this week. Overall they did well.
This week 6th grade started a chapter on multiplication. We are learning all the parts of a multiplication problem as well as how to multiply several digits by several digits.
7th grade has started a chapter on decimals. Our test consisted of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. If your child is struggling please review math facts with them nightly.
Pre-Algebra is plugging away. We just finished an introductory lesson on integers. We have moved on to learning how to solve one step equations. We will continue to review integers daily.
I hope all of your children are enjoying being back in school as much as I am. I have enjoyed getting to know them.
