February is coming

Wow.  The weeks just keep flying by.  Don't forget The Fun Run February 14th.

This week 6th grade has been working on our geometry chapter.  We have taken lots of notes.  We discussed the different types of angles this week as well as rays.  Next week we will begin discussing polygons.

7th grade finished multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers.  We have started rational numbers.  We have worked lots of problems where we have had to simplify rational expressions.

Pre-Algebra is also working with rational numbers.  This week we have added and subtracted rational numbers in the form of fractions and decimals.  We also started multiplying rational numbers.  Next week we will begin division of rational numbers.

End of 2nd Quarter

WOW.  We are half way done with the school year. 

6th grade has been learning to add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers.  Next week we will be starting a unit on geometry.

7th grade has been multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers.  Next week we will have a quiz on this.  We will then begin a section on rational numbers.

Pre-Algebra has been working with rates, ratios, and proportions.  Next week we will have a test on Chapter 5 and will begin working with rational numbers.

Welcome back

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Break.  We have started back in full swing.

Pre-Algebra is busy working with rational numbers.  We have begun comparing rational numbers.  We have learned how to convert from a mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa.  We are also learning how to convert a rational number into a decimal.  Next week we will continue with rational numbers and work with ratios.

7th Grade is still working with fractions.  This week we have been multipling and dividing fractions.  Next week we will add in multiplying and dividing by mixed numbers.

6th Grade is working hard on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with common denominators.  Next week they will begin adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with unlike denominators. 

Don't forget we are out of school on Monday, January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Merry Christmas

I just want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.  I hope everyone has a wonderful break.

December

Only a few weeks until Christmas.  Wow this year has flown by. 

Sixth grade is working on fractions.  We are making improper fractions into mixed numbers, mixed numbers to improper fractions and making equivalent fractions.  We are also learning several ways to compare fractions.

Seventh grade is also working on fractions and we have begun adding fractions with like and unlike denominators.

Pre-Algebra is solving inequalities and getting ready to start Chapter 4 which involves Number Theory. 

Thanksgiving is coming

Don't forget Thanksgiving is next week.  Students will be out Wednesday, November 27 thru Sunday, December 1 returning on Monday, December 2.

6th and 7th grades are working on proper and improper fractions.  We are changing mixed numbers to improper fractions and vice versa.

Pre-Algebra 7th and 8th grade are still working on one and two step equations.  Pre - Algebra will have a test before Thanksgiving break on one and two step equations.

November

Wow it is hard to believe it is already November.  2nd quarter has started out great. 

This week 6th grade had a test on division.  We will begin working with fractions next week.

7th grade is continuing with factors and multiples and will be having a test next week.

Pre-Algebra is still working on one step and multi step equations.
